(In the bottom three photos) One of the exercises in this workshop: Participants buried a part of their body and remained in the ground for an extended TIME. Carefully, they removed their body part from the earth at which point I filled the void created by their body with plaster and it was buried. Their performance was extended in TIME with the process of CASTING. The plaster was dug up later and showcased in an installation as a sculptural artifact.

Sufi Journeys

On April 23rd and 27th, Fort Lewis College performed , Conference of the Birds, a play adapted by Jean Claude Carrier alongside Peter Brook from ancient Sufi Poetry. I had the honor to perform as the Hoopoe in this journey of a play. A difficult and beautifully metaphoric journey into the self, as the self reveals itself to be all selves. A Review was written in the local paper for the production, click the link below to read;
Durango Herald, Conference of the Birds Review

"To escape the journey, the birds found countless excuses, and to convince them to go, the Hoopoe told countless stories, but often nothing could outweigh their fears."
